Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics graduation ceremony of 2026!
On 23 October 2026, we proudly celebrated the graduation of this year’s students from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics during our official graduation ceremony.
The ceremony began with the procession of the Faculty Council and Deans, accompanied by our graduates. The Dean, dr hab. Marcin Marciniak, delivered inspiring speeches, congratulating the students on behalf of the Faculty. Speeches were also given by the President of the Student Council, Maja Zontek, and the graduates’ representative, Weronika Cieślińska.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of graduation diplomas to the students by the Dean, dr hab. Marcin Marciniak, prof. UG, and the Vice-Dean, dr Justyna Strankowska.
The ceremony culminated in the symbolic turning of the tassels on the graduates’ mortarboards, followed by the traditional tossing of the caps into the air. The event concluded with a performance of the traditional academic hymn Gaudeamus igitur by the University of Gdańsk Choir.
Dear Graduates, congratulations on completing this long journey and achieving such an important milestone. We hope that the knowledge and experience you have gained will guide you in your future decisions and help you fulfil your dreams of pursuing your chosen careers. May your curiosity about the world, motivation and energy never drop to absolute zero!
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped organise and carry out the graduation ceremony. Our thanks go to the Student Council members – Maja Zontek, Alan Bidziński and Aleksandra Grochocka – for their work both on and off stage. We are grateful to our graduates, especially Weronika Cieślińska and Anna Ryńska, for their tremendous behind-the-scenes efforts. Special thanks go to the University of Gdańsk Academic Choir for the beautiful musical accompaniment and to the Centre for Student and Doctoral Activities (CASiD) for taking photographs.
We would also like to thank the Deanery administrative staff, the Deans and all our guests for sharing this special occasion with us!
